Django Unchained: 5 Reasons To See It.

Happy 2013!!

Over the holidays I went and saw Django Unchained, a movie I have been waiting to see … well forever and it did not disappoint!!  Instead of my usual long-winded review I am going to make this easy for you:

5 Reasons you NEED to see this:

1) Tarantino crafts amazing characters, smart dialogue, and is unpredictable. Even though you are watching for almost 3 hours you do not want the story to end.

2) This guy:

Leo will blow you away with his performance, he is extraordinary as the sleazy owner of Candy-land.

3) You’ll laugh and you’ll cringe within seconds of each other. THAT is magical story making my friends.

4) The soundtrack. Tarantino always picks unique music for his films and this was no exception, it has a mix of both his favorite tunes and original songs made just for Django.

5) Because he doesn’t give a F**k. He made his movie his way for the people who know and love his work. No Hollywood fluff, no stars starving themselves, no ass kissing. He had a vision and he went for it.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding the use of violence, slavery and a certain word in this movie but again I directed you to point #5. I could make a long argument about the freedom of choice, movies that are unoriginal and glorify horrible things etc etc etc but again making this short and sweet: If you don’t like it, don’t watch it.
